Blog: What are the Leather Options for NIKEiD Styles?

Some NIKEiD styles offer a selection of premium upper materials for a style that best suits

the consumer.

In general, these options are mainly leather. So in that respect, they will wear very

similarly. However, they will look a little different.

Crinkle - Full grain leather with an textured surface that looks like crinkled paper. It has

areas that look creased or folded.

Jungle - Full grain leather with a medium sized reptile/aligator texture

Short Stop - Full Grain aniline leather. This is a high end leather with a smooth top

coating. It’s really good stuff.

Kangaroo - Kangaroo Leather. This is exactly like the leather we use on our top end soccer

shoes. It is soft, strong, and looks great.

Patent - Patent Leather. This will have a shiny, top coating on it so that it looks like the

leather is “under glass”.

Pearlized - Full Grain pigmented leather. This leather will also have a smooth top coating,

but he colors will be more vibrant because the leather gets most of its coloration from a

painting type process.

Metallic – A leather that has a metallic finish on the top. It looks great and really

shines.

Textile – A Nylon based material that harkens back to the day when this type of material

was used in the upper of a track spike.

Nubuck – This is a Full Grain leather that has a really fine, buffed surface. It’s like

they took 320 grit sand paper to the top of the leather to give it a nice, soft nap.

McCoy – Another pigmented Full Grain leather.

Glazed Pull-Up Leather - It is full grain leather with a slightly waxy finish. When flexed

or aged has a natural color variations that varies shoe to shoe.
